Arson squad investigate Butler house fire

Butler Fire and Rescue firefighters attended a fire, which is believed to have been deliberately lit at a Butler home.

THE arson squad is investigating a fire which caused an estimated $150,000 damage to a Butler home.

Police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) were called to the fire at the home on Coniston Parkway about 11.15pm on Wednesday, June 27.

A DFES spokeswoman said two appliances from Butler Fire and Rescue attended along with fire and rescue crews from other areas.

It is believed the fire started in the laundry on the side of the home.

After the fire was extinguished a WA Police spokeswoman said arson squad officers would attend to help establish the cause of the fire, which the officers later deemed to be suspicious.
