THE annual Australia Day Breakfast in Two Rocks will go ahead on January 26 despite Covid-19 restrictions bringing some changes.

Organised for the community by the Yanchep Two Rocks Community Recreation Association (YTRCRA) the event is held at the Phil Renkin Recreation Centre.

The YTRCRA committee said the association had been organising the breakfast for more than 40 years and they did not want to miss this year’s event.

But the association has to follow all the rules and restrictions set by the state government.

This means community members who want to attend the Australia Day breakfast will need to register with the SafeWA app or write their details in the SafeWA sheet that will be provided on the day.

The breakfast starts at 8am.

There will be limits on the number of people allowed in the recreation centre so people will be asked once they have finished their breakfast to leave their table and go outside to enjoy the music and children’s entertainment so others have an opportunity to have their breakfast.

The committee said they will have chairs outside for people to use.

YTRCRA’s annual citizens and groups of the year awards will be held at 10.30am outside the recreation centre.

The free event for Yanchep and Two Rocks community members has been supported by the City of Wanneroo and Yanchep Sun City.

The committee thanked residents for understanding the restrictions were necessary and for their support to keep the Australian spirit and traditions alive.
