Earlier today DFES said Gingin West, Cowalla, Guilderton and Beermullah crews were on site strengthening containment lines.

THE bushfire in Beermullah and Boonanarring has been downgraded to a bushfire advice –monitor conditions – due to the fire being contained and under control.

At 11.36am the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) said Gingin West, Cowalla, Guilderton and Beermullah crews were on site strengthening containment lines.

Prior to that at 7.36am DFES said the advice area had been extended to the west.

This meant a bushfire watch and act was in place for people in an area bounded by Bootine Rd, Alp Rd, Ausrich Rd and south west of Boonanarring nature reserve while an advice was in place for people in the area west of Alp Rd to Jocks Ave and Pin Pin Rd, and north of Ausrich Rd to north of Drew Rd and Wannamal Rd W.

Before the bushfire was downgraded some roads were closed including Beermullah Rd West between Brand Hwy and Mayfield Rd along with Nine Mile Swamp Rd.

The bushfire was reported at 4.22pm on January 20.
