
A BUSHFIRE in the Shire of Gingin is at a watch and act – monitor conditions – level for people in an area bounded by Bootine Rd to the south, Mayfield Rd to the west and Boonanarring nature reserve to the east in Beermullah and Boonanarring.
At 10.12pm the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) said there was a possible threat to lives and homes from the bushfire – reported at 4.22pm – as conditions could change.
A bushfire advice – threat is reduced – is in place for people in an area bounded by Gingin Brook Rd, Brand Hwy, Beattie Rd and Bootine Rd in Granville, Muckenburra and Beermullah.
DFES said the alert level for this area had been downgraded as the threat of fire had been reduced in the area and there was no threat to lives or homes.
The bushfire, which firefighters are actively fighting is stationary but it is not contained or controlled.
A number of roads have been closed including Beermullah Rd West between Brand Hwy and Mayfield Rd along with Nine Mile Swamp Rd.
Aerial support has been released from the incident as they cannot operate in the dark but if necessary they will return at first light.
The Shire of Gingin is managing the bushfire.
DFES said updates would be issued every two hours unless the situation changed.
