THE City of Wanneroo went behind doors at its August 16 meeting to discuss buying some vacant blocks in St Andrews.
All 13 councillors voted to approve the unbudgeted purchase of a 17m2 part of portion of Lot 9006 (19K) St Andrews Dr for the purpose of road widening.
The councilors also gave approval for the city to buy Lot 5 (59A) Moorpark Ave, the whole of Lot 4 (65A) Moorpark Ave and all of Lot 3 (87) Moorpark Ave.
They also approved miscellaneous costs such as surveying and settlement fees associated with buying the land.
Their approval also authorised Mayor Tracey Roberts and the chief executive officer to carry out contracts and any other associated documentation between the City of Wanneroo and Primewest (Yanchep Beach Road) Pty Ltd and the City of Wanneroo and Yanchep Beach Joint Venture Pty Ltd, which was required to buy the land.
They said the council would advise Primewest, Yanchep Beach Joint Venture and all landowners and occupiers of land adjoining the 11 vacant land parcels.
