A MOTORCYCLIST has died after an accident believed to involve a collision between two bikes at Wanneroo Raceway yesterday morning.

A WA Sporting Car Club (WASCC) spokesman said the accident happened at a track action motorcycle ride day event at Wanneroo Raceway about 10am.

“At this stage, we understand that the incident involved a collision between two motorcycles on the track,’’ he said.

WA Police said they were called to the Wanneroo Raceway about 10.45am on Monday, June 7.

A police spokesman said a 32-year-old bike rider had been treated by St John Ambulance at the scene before he was taken to Joondalup Hospital where he was declared deceased.

He said the death was not being treated as suspicious and a report would be prepared for the coroner.

The WASCC spokesman said the club’s deepest condolences went out to the deceased rider’s family and friends at this time.

“We are working with the relevant authorities and a full inquiry into the incident will be held,’’ he said.

“As this is now a police investigation, we are unable to make further comment at this time.

“WASCC values the safety of visitors and patrons and their safety remains our highest priority.’’
