Community radio station 89.7FM wins grant

Community radio station 89.7FM and five other groups have won grants from the City of Wanneroo.

COMMUNITY radio station 89.7FM which broadcasts to the northern suburbs is among a list of groups to win grants from the City of Wanneroo.

A city spokeswoman said the Wanneroo Joondalup Regional Broadcasting Association (89.7FM) received $5000 to pay for a quarter of its transmission rental.

Quinns Rocks Bushfire Brigade Cadets received $1200 to pay for two teams to participate in the Australian Fire Cadet Championships in Sydney in October.

School Sport WA received $1400 for students to participate in the SSA Football and SSA Touch National Championships in Adelaide in December.

Football West was awarded $1000 for its players to participate in the National Youth Championships in Coffs Harbour in September.

High Flyers Gymnastics was awarded $1500 for three of its gymnasts to attend the Prime International Gymnastics Invitational in Singapore in November.

Joondalup Entertainers Theatre School was awarded $600 for three people to attend the World Supremacy Battlegrounds International Championships in Sydney in October.
