Critically injured Alkimos man dies in hospital

AT 2.16pm today WA Police advised an Alkimos man who received life-threatening injuries in a crash in Mindarie on Saturday has since died in hospital.

The 18-year-old man had been a passenger in a Hyundai Accent with three other young men being driven north on Marmion Avenue about 4am.

As the vehicle approached the intersection of Aviator Blvd it is believed the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle left the road and struck several trees, causing it to roll and come to rest on its roof.

Police, St John Ambulance, Department of Fire and Emergency Services, and RAC Rescue helicopter personnel attended the accident and all four were taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

The driver an 18-year-old Alkimos resident and the other two 18-year-olds – of Quinns Rock and Ridgewood – received less serious injuries.
