A MUCKENBURRA man was caught drink driving twice on the one day in Yanchep – the second time police stopped him when he was driving the wrong way around a roundabout.
A WA Police spokesman said breath and drug operations conducting alcohol and drug testing in Yanchep charged the 57-year-old man for driving under the influence of alcohol twice on Tuesday, August 29.
“At about 11.15am the man was stopped on Indian Ocean Dr and provided a breath test reading calculated to be over three times the legal limit,’’ he said.
“The man was charged and waited for family to collect him.
“Shortly after the man was seen by traffic officers driving his vehicle the wrong way around the roundabout on Marmion Ave.
“He was stopped and it is alleged he had drank more alcohol.
“He was conveyed back to the breath and drug bus where he gave a calculated breath reading over three times the legal limit.’’
He said the man was charged again with driving under the influence of alcohol and his vehicle was impounded.
He is due to appear in court on Friday, September 22.
