EMERGENCY services volunteers from Two Rocks and Yanchep have been recognised at the 2017 City of Wanneroo Emergency Services Volunteer Appreciation Dinner at Mindarie marina.
Awards were presented to Rob Ross from the Two Rocks Volunteer Marine Rescue Group, Mark Elt from the Yanchep Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service and Mathew Burke from the Wanneroo-Joondalup SES.
Mayor Tracey Roberts presented volunteer excellence awards to recipients who have gone above and beyond in contributing their time, skills and knowledge to their organisation to support emergency service functions within the community.
Cr Roberts said the city was proud of all its volunteers and hosted events each year as a way of saying thank you.
“Our emergency services volunteers play a vital role in keeping the city safe and this is just a small gesture in recognition of the tireless service each and every volunteer provides,’’ she said.
“Over the past year, our emergency services volunteers have donated more than 16,000 hours of their time to ensure the wellbeing of others in our community and the many visitors to our city.’’
