OLD Nursery Park has been targeted by vandals during the past week with extensive damage done to the barbecue over a number of nights.

On Wednesday some of the brickwork had been smashed and the City of Wanneroo had put danger tape around the barbecue.

But by Friday there was more damage done to the barbecue and by Saturday morning the damage was extensive with all the brickwork smashed and the hotplate removed and left lying in the park.

Some of the smashed limestone blocks had been thrown around the area including on top of the pavilion.

There were also patches of graffiti including tags on the limestone wall and in the pavilion as well as on a table.

About 9am the Two Rocks & Yanchep Residents Association notified the City of Wanneroo about the new damage and a ranger quickly responded and started a clean-up of the area.

Yanchep News Online understands an electrician was also called in to isolate the power.

By Sunday morning there was new graffiti in the pavilion.

Residents can contact Crimestoppers to report graffiti vandalism online or call 1800 333 000.
