FOUR people have nominated for the North-East ward extraordinary election on December 14.
North-East ward residents need to elect a new councillor to replace their former representative Linda Aitken who is now the City of Wanneroo Mayor.
The nominations for the North-East ward are high school teacher Bronwyn Smith of Butler, health service chief executive officer Mike Dale of Butler, business development executive Rikki Baulch of Alkimos and former councillor and Wanneroo resident Rudi Steffens.
Bronwyn Smith said she is a member of the Labor Party.
Mr Dale said over the years he had belonged to a wide range of political parties but not for the past two years as he had decided they were too political and did not align with his values.
Mr Baulch said he is a member of the Liberal Party.
Mr Steffens said he had no political affiliations with any political party.
The North-East ward consists of the suburbs of Butler, Nowergup, Merriwa, Ridgewood and north Clarkson.
The candidate profiles are available on the City of Wanneroo website.
