SIX motorcyclists have been charged with reckless driving after a fixed site speed camera in Gabbadah captured them allegedly travelling between 165km/h and up to 187km/h.

A police spokesman said the riders had none of whom had valid licences to ride the bikes were due to appear in the Lancelin Magistrates Court at a later date.

He said traffic enforcement officers charged the riders for reckless driving ­- exceeding the speed limit by 45km/h or more – on Indian Ocean Dr driving near Sovereign Hill Dr on Wednesday, August 30.

A 30-year-old Warrenup man  riding a Honda motorcycle was charged with reckless driving, no authority to drive (incorrect class) and contravening a condition of a learners permit.

A 26-year-old man Ocean Reef man riding a Harley Davidson was charged with reckless driving and no authority to drive (incorrect class).

A 24-year-old Hamilton Hill man riding a Yamaha motorcycle, was charged with reckless driving and no authority to drive (incorrect class).

A 28-year-old Henley Brook man riding a Kawasaki motorcycle was charged with reckless driving and no authority to drive (incorrect class).

A 32-year-old Ellenbrook man riding a Suzuki motorcycle was charged with reckless driving and no authority to drive (incorrect class).

A 32-year-old Samson man riding a Harley Davidson was charged with reckless driving, no authority to Drive (incorrect class) contravening a condition of a learners permit.
