A GINGIN man, charged in January with making threatening phone calls, had his bail extended when he appeared before the Midland Magistrates Court this morning.
Stephen Wayne Balcombe was charged by Gingin Police under section 474.17 of the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth) (Act) with police alleging he used a carriage service between February 2 to September 10 last year to menace, harass or cause offence.
After the charge was read and he was asked how he pleaded 62-year-old Mr Balcombe, who is the husband of Shire of Gingin President Linda Balcombe, said not guilty.
Mr Balcombe’s bail was extended to Tuesday, May 12.
Yanchep News Online understands the alleged calls were made to Gingin councillor Lincoln Stewart.
