THE University of Western Australia’s vice-chancellor Professor Paul Johnson joined Governor Kerry Sanderson for a rocket launch at the inaugural Gingin Science Festival and to celebrate the centenary of Einstein’s Theory of Gravity and the International Year of Light.
The Science Festival opened on Friday, August 14 at the Gingin Railway Station on Jones Street at 11.30am with the rocket launch at noon.
On Saturday and Sunday, August 15-16 the Leaning Tower of Gingin will became the world’s largest musical instrument with concerts held all day.
There was a Student Science-Art competition at Granville Park.
Until Saturday, September 19 there will be science in the pub all across the shire of Gingin, talk-fests in Gingin town and the Gravity Discovery Centre, music and more.
