GINGIN Police are seeking information from the public after an attempted burglary in Granville on Saturday, July 30.
A WA Police spokeswoman said about 7am police were called to a property on Brand Hwy following reports of two men acting suspiciously.
When police officers attended they found one of the men in a tractor and the other man getting into the driver’s side of a Toyota Landcruiser.
She said the driver of the tractor drove directly towards the police vehicle several times, causing the officers to take evasive action to avoid a collision.
The man in the Landcruiser drove towards Brand Hwy in an attempt to avoid police.
The driver of the tractor drove in front of the police vehicle to stop them from following, before following the Landcruiser to the highway.
Officers were able to stop the Landcruiser on Brand Hwy and the driver was arrested without incident.
Meanwhile, the tractor was driven north on Brand Hwy for about 2km before it was driven over a property boundary fence and onto a property.
“The driver abandoned the tractor and fled on foot,’’ she said.
“Police attended the area however they were unable to locate the man.
“It is believed a red Ford or Holden station sedan-wagon that was seen in the area around 10.45am may have picked the man up.
“Police are seeking information from anyone who may have seen the tractor on Brand Highway or the red station sedan.
“In particular police would like any dash cam vision from drivers who may have been in the area at the time.’’
