Gusty cold front due on Sunday

GUSTY showers are likely southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to Bremer Bay on Sunday, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

For Yanchep on Sunday the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) is forecasting a 95 per cent chance of rain with 6mm to 10mm expected.

Yanchep’s forecast temperature for Sunday is for a maximum of 22 degrees and a minimum of 14 degrees.

Lancelin is forecast to have 5mm to 8mm of rain with a maximum temperature of 23 degrees and a minimum of 14 degrees.

The forecast for both Alkimos and Butler on Sunday is for 8mm to 10mm of rainfall and a maximum temperature of 21 and a minimum of 14 degrees.

BoM said while moderate rainfall totals of 5mm to 15mm were possible parts of the far southwest could have rainfall totals of 10mm to 25mm with isolated falls of up to 50mm to 60mm.

Eastern parts of the agricultural area are forecast to receive 1mm to 5mm.

Thunderstorms and small hail are possible in coastal areas of the southwest on Sunday and into early Monday.

Damaging surf conditions are likely from Cape Naturaliste to Walpole on Sunday and from Shark Bay to Walpole on Monday.

Higher than normal tides are also likely on Sunday from Cape Leeuwin to Albany.

These conditions will make coastal activities such as swimming, surfing and rock fishing hazardous.
