WITH Christmas fast approaching the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal needs people to collect donations as well as donate money, gift vouchers and non-perishable food items.
Each year the City of Wanneroo conducts the appeal to help residents who are facing hardship.
In previous years the appeal has received a remarkable response from the community, with many schools, community groups, senior associations, businesses and residents donating generously.
Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts is encouraging the community to help out once again.
“I am constantly amazed at the generosity and Christmas spirit shown by our wonderful community in supporting those in need,” she said.
“All donations received will be distributed to those less fortunate within our city.”
People can help by registering to receive a donation box to display at your premises to collect donations of non-perishable food items, making a corporate or group donation of non-perishable food items or donating money or gift vouchers to help buy goods.
Donations can be made between Monday, October 10 and Friday, November 18 in any of the city’s libraries, or at the Civic Centre foyer.
