MAJOR crash investigators are seeking information after a serious crash in Yanchep on Saturday, May 12.
A WA Police spokeswoman said about 4pm, a black 2007 model Holden Commodore sedan travelling south on Indian Ocean Dr, collided head-on with a silver 2006 model Mercedes sedan that was travelling north.
The driver of the Commodore, a 21-year-old Woodvale man along with the 50-year-old male driver and 46-year-old female passenger from the Mercedes, both from Yokine, received life-threatening injuries and were airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital.
Major crash officers are urging anyone who saw the crash, or either vehicle prior to the crash, or has dash-cam footage relating to the incident, to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au
Recently Transport Minister Rita Saffioti said traffic volumes along Indian Ocean Dr could reach up to 5500 vehicles a day.
She said the McGowan Government had acted quickly following a number of serious crashes on Indian Ocean Dr last year and it hoped new passing lanes combined with the lowering of the speed limit and new audible edge lines would make the road a lot safer and potentially save lives.
