A BUSHFIRE on Indian Ocean Dr just before the start of the Easter long weekend has been deemed to be suspicious so police want anyone with information to come forward.

On Friday, April 19 the Parks and Wildlife Service at the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions said the cause of the bushfire, which had burnt 0.5ha was suspicious and that people should report any suspicious behaviour to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The bushfire started near the intersection of Indian Ocean Dr and Bailey Rd in Yanchep.

The alert on April 19 said the bushfire, reported at 5.06pm on Thursday, April 18, had been extinguished.

But the area in the vicinity of Yanchep National Park would be monitored by firefighters for the rest of the day.
