JOONDALUP Police have charged seven people as a result of Operation EYRE, which was conducted following reports of antisocial behaviour in the Butler area, including a serious rock-throwing incident in which a cyclist sustained significant injuries.
Five juveniles were charged with 11 offences and three illegal e-rideables were impounded.
Two men, aged 20 and 24, were also charged with offences including trespass, criminal damage, damage by graffiti, possession of graffiti implements and providing false details to police.
WA Police said they would continue proactive enforcement and investigation activities targeting dangerous riding behaviour, unlawful e-rideables and rock-throwing incidents.
“Rock-throwing is extremely dangerous and poses a significant risk to vehicle occupants and other members of the community in the area,’’ WA Police said.
Clarkson Police are investigating reports of rocks being thrown at vehicles on Wednesday, August 19 and vehicles and buses on Thursday, August 20.
