Man due in court again after Yanchep assault

An 18-year-old man charged after the alleged assault of another teenager near Old Nursery Park in Yanchep is due in court again next month.

AN 18-year-old man charged after the alleged assault of another teenager near Old Nursery Park in Yanchep 13 days ago is due back in court on Monday, November 12.

The 18-year-old was charged by Joondalup detectives and had his first appearance in the Joondalup Magistrates Court on Friday, October 12.

He was charged with assault with intent to rob, intent to do grievous bodily harm and possession of cannabis.

The 18-year-old man he allegedly assaulted was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after an altercation at Yanchep Beach Rd and Frigate Cres intersection about 7pm on Monday.

A WA Police spokeswoman said the injured man had received a deep cut to a wrist during the incident.

On Monday after the alleged assault police officers spent some time examining a mulched area next to Yanchep Beach Rd.

The spokeswoman said the inquiry into the incident was continuing and anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at crimestopperswa.com.au
