AS a second-term North Ward Councillor, Sonet Coetzee is seeking your ongoing support to be elected as your City of Wanneroo Mayor in our upcoming extraordinary Local Government Election.

Sonet is passionate about making our City where we work, live and play more accessible, liveable, safe and sustainable for all. Sonet is deeply involved in the local community and feels strongly about community consultation and supporting the local community groups. She has made meaningful bonds with our Seniors, Families, Youth, Community Groups, Sporting Clubs, Schools, Businesses and Farmers. Sonet places her community first and listens to the people of Wanneroo.

As a current Councillor, she has negotiated and helped achieve many positive outcomes in our roads, rail infrastructure, landscaping in our public open spaces and upgrading community facilities, creating employment opportunities whilst always spending our money wisely and insuring sustainable planning for future generations.

The City’s population is growing rapidly, and the demand for new infrastructure and services is increasing.  Sonet promises to engage with the community to ensure future projects benefit us all.

Sonet and her husband Xavier together with their two teenage boys have always lived in the North Ward. She grew up with two older brothers, and from an early age helped and worked on her parent’s family farm. She loves sports and spending time around family and friends. She is an experienced small business owner and understands first-hand the various challenges local businesses are facing.

Sonet and her family are actively involved in many community and not-for-profit organisations and sporting groups. She is the President of the P&F at her sons’ school St. James, in Alkimos.

With your support, Sonet will do her very best to deliver on all promises. Sonet will be dedicated to the City of Wanneroo’s future, which is estimated to be home to more than 285,000 people by 2031.

With your support, Sonet will continue to fight to build a bright future for our growing community City of Wanneroo, the place we all call home.

Let’s continue to work together to get more things done!
