Men charged after Alkimos burglary

Two men are due in court after a burglary in Alkimos on Saturday night.

TWO men have been charged and are due in court today after a burglary in Alkimos last night.

A WA Police spokesman said gang crime detectives charged the men after a break-in at a home on Pangolin Grove on Saturday, February 3.

The spokesman said both men were due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court this morning, Sunday, February 4.

He said the investigation was ongoing and a third person had been released pending further inquiries.

The spokesman said police will allege about 6pm on Saturday one man attempted to enter a house on Pangolin Grove by kicking in a door.

“This was unsuccessful so (we will allege) he removed a glass window pane and two men entered the address via the window,’’ he said.

“An occupant, who was inside the house at the time, was able to ring police from a rear room.

“The men searched rooms inside the house and a number of items were taken and placed in a vehicle parked outside.

“Police attended a short time later and arrested three men in the vicinity.’’

A 36-year-old man of no fixed address and a 43-year-old man from Pearsall were both charged with aggravated burglary and stealing.
