THE Mitchell Fwy extension from Burns Beach Rd to Hester Ave will be opened to the travelling public in early August.
The new 6km section of freeway will provide road users with direct access to and from Neerabup Rd and Hester Ave in Clarkson.
Access to and from Neerabup Rd and Hester Avenue will be available via roundabout controlled bridge intersections.
Neerabup Rd is also being extended from Connolly Drive to Wanneroo Road, which means road users will be able to exit the new freeway at Neerabup Rd and continue east for direct access to Wanneroo Rd and Flynn Dr or west for direct access to Connolly Dr.
Hester Ave (between Hidden Valley Retreat and Wanneroo Rd) and Wanneroo Rd (between Hall Rd and Hester Ave) have been widened to two lanes in each direction.
A Main Roads WA spokeswoman said minor finishing works and quality testing would be undertaken following the opening to ensure the high quality of the delivered infrastructure is maintained.
“As these work areas will be located adjacent to live traffic, some traffic management such as lane closures and a reduced speed limit will be required,’’ she said.
“Should road closures be required, information will be available in advance.’’
