Muchea speed reduction until NorthLink WA completed

FROM Monday, April 16 temporary speed reductions will be implemented on sections of Brand Hwy and Great Northern Hwy in Muchea.

The reduced speed limit of 60 km/h will be in place until NorthLink WA is complete in 2019.
Main Roads WA said as construction and bridge works for NorthLink WA northern section gather pace in the Muchea area speed reductions were necessary for the safety of motorists and workers alike.

The 60km/h limit will apply on Brand Hwy, between Byrne Rd and Chittering Street and on Great Northern Hwy, between Old Gingin Rd and Muchea East Rd.

A Main Roads WA spokeswoman said on completion, NorthLink WA would provide a vital road portal for traffic and freight movements to commercial and industrial areas north of Perth, as well as improved safety, reduced congestion and faster travel times for road users.

“Traffic will travel free-flow on a dual carriageway with new interchanges at Stock Rd, Neaves Rd and Brand Hwy, together with bridges over local roads and railways,’’ she said.
