MOTORISTS travelling on Wanneroo Rd, Hester Ave and Flynn Dr during the next few weeks may be stopped for short periods between 7pm and 5am on intermittent nights while work is carried out in the area.
Main Roads WA said lane capacity would be reduced and the speed limit reduced to 40km/h through the work area when works were in progress during this month.
The night-works will include constructing pavement and asphalting, traffic signal works, services works, installing signage and roadside infrastructure and installing and removing traffic management. Equipment used will include lighting towers, hand tools and various plant and machinery.
A Main Roads update said workers would minismise the effects on the community as much as possible, however, some vibration and noise should be expected, including safety squawkers (which were quieter than normal beepers) on reversing machinery.
Works must be undertaken at night due to the close proximity to live traffic and the train line and to facilitate efficient delivery of the project”,’’ the update said.
Night-works will also be undertaken during the same hours on intermittent nights throughout February at the Joondalup Dr and Wanneroo Rd intersection.
As well as the items above the work could also include line marking.
