A BUSHFIRE in Nowergup, which was reported at 4.07pm and so far has burnt 3ha, has been downgraded.
But Wanneroo Rd remains closed from Nowergup Rd intersection to the Karoborup Rd intersection to both north and south bound traffic with diversions in place.
Heavy vehicles travelling southbound on Indian Ocean Dr can follow diversions in place on Old Yanchep Rd.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully due to smoke.
The first alert issued at 5.37pm said the fire started near the intersection of Wanneroo Rd and Nowergup Rd and that Wanneroo Rd was closed from the Hester Ave intersection to the Karoborup Rd intersection to both north and south bound traffic.
