A YEAR 5 class at Yanchep Beach Primary School is in isolation after a Covid-19 person attended the school earlier this week.

About 12.30pm this afternoon the Department of Education confirmed a positive case had been reported at the school.

In a notice to parents yesterday Yanchep Beach Primary School said the person had attended Year 5 class Yorakal 6 room on Monday, February 21 while infectious.

“All students and staff who were in Year 5 class Yorakal 6 room at the same time as the case, are deemed a close contact by WA Health and should get tested immediately and quarantine for seven days from exposure,’’ the notice said.

The following key dates apply for all students and staff who were in this class: Date of final PCR test: Sunday, February 27 – End of quarantine date and time: Monday, February 28 at 3pm.

These students and staff can return to school on Tuesday, March 1 provided they have not developed any symptoms and have returned either a negative PCR on day six or RAT on or after day seven.

“If students or staff are unwell, they should stay home until symptoms clear.’’

Covid-19 PCR tests can be accessed at a Covid clinic – a list of clinics can be found here

The school remains open so children who were not in the year 5 class Yorakal 6 room are still required to attend.
