ROADWORKS on Wanneroo Rd scheduled for mid-December have been postponed to January due to inclement weather, according to Main Roads WA.
A Main Roads WA spokeswoman said day-time resurfacing works along Wanneroo Rd southbound, between Bernard Rd and Kiro St, commencing Sunday, December 17.
“These works have now been postponed until January due to the recent inclement weather,’’ she said.
She said a new date would be advised via the variable message sign boards as soon as possible.
She said the roadworks would take place between 7am and 5pm. “During this time, traffic will be reduced to a single lane in the southbound carriageway with intermittent 200m lengths of stop-slow near Bernard Rd and the speed limit will be reduced to 60 km/h.
“Road users are encouraged to plan ahead and allow some extra time for their journey.
“Following these day-time works, there will be night resealing works between 7pm and 5am on Wanneroo Rd between Karoborup Rd and Nowergup Rd.
“During this time, works will be conducted under stop-slow traffic control for 1km sections with expected delays of up to five minutes.
“Separate variable message sign boards for these works will be installed and updated accordingly.’’
She said Main Roads WA completed resurfacing works along Indian Ocean Dr, between Breakwater Dr and north of Old Yanchep Rd on December 15-16.
“These works were part of a package of safety improvement works currently being implemented along Indian Ocean Dr.’’
