DESPITE an extensive search around Jeffrey Doyle’s boat Obsession 2, which was found washed ashore near Grey yesterday, there is still no sign of the missing fisherman.

After searching the site about 3km south of the Grey settlement site Saturday, October 29 WA Police said they did not find any evidence to suggest Mr Doyle made it to shore.

A police spokeswoman said Mr Doyle’s boat had been forensically examined and no suspicious circumstances identified.

Forensic officers and water police officers will continue their examination of the vessel today (Sunday, October 30).

“At this time the search for Mr Doyle has been suspended pending further information being received by police,’’ she said.

Superintendent Michael Bell from the Mid West-Gascoyne District thanked everyone from volunteer marine rescue, SES, WA Police and Department of Fisheries who took part in the search.
