Second fatal crash at Yanchep roundabout

A man died and two others were injured after a crash involving the Capricorn Esplanade roundabout.

A SECOND fatal crash involving the roundabout at Capricorn Esplanade in Yanchep is being investigated by WA Police.

The southern approach to the roundabout on Two Rocks Rd has been the subject of a number of complaints by the Two Rocks Yanchep Residents Association – the latest in January where former president Peter Wimsett said there had been two non-fatal accidents there recently.

A WA Police spokeswoman said about 10.10pm on Tuesday, March 5 a silver Mitsubishi magna was being driven south along Two Rocks Rd.

“On the approach to the roundabout at Capricorn Esplanade it appears the vehicle lost control, causing the motor vehicle to roll and come to a stop against a light pole,’’ she said.

“One passenger of the vehicle, a 25-year-old male, died at the scene. “Two other male occupants of the vehicle were hospitalised with minor injuries.’’

On Sunday, July 16, 2017 about 8.55pm a 51-year-old man died after a white early 1997 model Holden Commodore utility, which was travelling south on Two Rocks Rd near Zamia Rise, left the road and rolled several times through a park, coming to rest at the entrance road to Club Capricorn.

Anyone with information regarding the crash on March 5, or who saw the Mitsubishi magna prior to the crash, is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online
