There will be an information session at Alkimos Pop-Up Library on Saturday, February 2 on how sport and community groups can apply for funding.

Looking to take your community group’s new project or event to another level?

Here’s how you can apply for funding from the City of Wanneroo.

An initiative designed to support healthy, safe, vibrant and connected communities, the City of Wanneroo’s Community Funding program is accepting applications again this February and March.

“The City’s Community Funding program is aimed at supporting groups who can help nurture community spirit and encourage active, healthy lifestyles,” City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said.

“For local community groups and clubs, this is your chance to secure key financial support for an upcoming project or event.”

For example, last year Yanchep Junior Districts Football Club (YJDFC) received funding for its annual Gala Day at Splendid Park.

Playing host to everything from amusement rides, food vans and games for the local community to enjoy, the event was a huge success.

To help guide interested parties through the application process, the City of Wanneroo is holding an information session at Alkimos Pop-Up Library on Saturday, February 2 from 10am to 12pm.

The information session will unpack everything from fulfilling community funding eligibility requirements to completing the City’s online application form.

To register for the information session, call 9405 5951 or email communityfunding@wanneroo.wa.gov.au by 5pm Wednesday, January 30.

Opening at 9am on Friday, February 1 and closing at 4pm on Friday, March 15, the next round of community funding is timed to support community development projects commencing from about July, including Christmas 2019 events.
