Survey on attitudes to rail and transport sharing

The study aims to examine the experiences and attitudes of Wanneroo residents on sharing transportation and active transport options, especially for travelling to and from a railway station.

RESIDENTS can take part in a RailSmart and transportation sharing, Wanneroo

survey, which is very relevant to the Metronet extension locations of Alkimos, Eglinton and Yanchep.

The survey is part of a nationally funded joint project between Edith Cowan University, the University of Western Australia, the City of Wanneroo, and the Department of Transport as part of the commonwealth’s smart cities and suburbs program.

The aim of the study is to examine the experiences and attitudes of Wanneroo residents in relation to sharing transportation and active transport options, especially for travelling to and from a railway station.

A statement from researchers and stakeholders said it was vital the City of Wanneroo developed a transportation network and employment opportunities to meet the needs of its growing population.

The information collected from the survey will be used to help town planners understand travel behavior and plan future road and rail infrastructure and the location of facilities.

If you travel, live or work in the City of Wanneroo your opinions are relevant to this study and you are being invited to complete an online survey and answer questions related to your travel.

The survey should take fifteen to twenty minutes to complete.

The information you provide is anonymous.

Names are not collected and participants will not be identifiable from a completed survey.

Information from the surveys will be aggregated with other responses. You can exit the survey at any time before completion and your responses will not be used.

If you wish to return to complete the survey you are free to do so.

The information provided from completed surveys will be combined with information available from other sources (such as census data) and used to understand travel behavior and attitudes to transport and transport sharing in Western Australia.

The survey data will be used as stated above and will be deleted seven years after collection.

The completed study will be available from the Planning and Transport Research Centre (PATREC), University of Western Australia in mid-2019.

Research articles based upon the collected data will also be published and available to the public.
