A SUSPICIOUS bushfire, which affected drivers on Indian Ocean Dr between Breakwater Dr and Bailey Rd, has burnt 4ha of land.

On Wednesday, October 3 at 8.51am the parks and wildlife service at the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions said the bushfire was contained and issued an all clear.

The alert said firefighters would monitor the area but that drivers should remain vigilant in case the situation changed.

They were also advised to drive slowly and with caution due to smoke and emergency services personnel working in the area.

The deliberately-lit bushfire was reported at 6.30pm on Tuesday, October 2.

At 1.48pm on Sunday, October 7 the parks and wildlife service issued a smoke alert for Wanerie, Cowalla, Regans Ford, Red Gully, Beermullah and surrounding roads in the Shire of Gingin.

The smoke is the result of a prescribed burn being carried out north-east of Guilderton.

Smoke is expected to clear by tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, information is needed about another deliberately-lit bushfire, which affected people in the northern parts of Banksia Grove in an area bounded by Pederick Rd, Old Yanchep Rd, Grandis Blvd and Pinjar Rd.

Before the bushfire was extinguished Flynn Dr between Mather Dr and Old Yanchep Rd had to be closed.

The bushfire was reported at 01.43pm on Friday, September 28 with the all clear issued just before midnight.
