
THERE have been two suspicious bushfires started in the City of Wanneroo in the past week.
Yesterday at 4.44pm the Parks and Wildlife Service at the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions issued a bushfire advice for the northern part of the Gnangara pine plantation.
The department said the bushfire, which was moving slowly in a northerly direction and not contained, had started near the intersection of Buloke and Neaves roads.
Aerial supportĀ had been sent to assist firefighters who were at the scene.
Parks and Wildlife Service is managing the fire with an update due by 11am today.
At 9.29pm on December 31 the Department of Fire and Emergency Services issued a bushfire advice for people travelling along Wesco Rd and Old Yanchep Rd in Nowgerup.
The department said the bushfire also deemed to be suspicious started near the intersection of Wesco and Gibbs roads.
In the alert the department said 50 career, volunteer fire and emergency services, bush fire service and Parks and Wildlife Service firefighters attended.
The bushfire, which was reported at 7.40pm and had already burnt 10ha, was being managed by the City of Wanneroo.
