A CRASH on Indian Ocean Dr involving two vehicles has resulted in one person being taken to Royal Perth Hospital by RAC Rescue.

About 5pm WA Police said two other people were taken to Joondalup Health Campus by St John WA.

An emergency WA alert sent at 4.05pm said an RAC Rescue helicopter had been sent to the crash near the intersection of Ocean Pl and Indian Ocean Dr in Nilgen.

Volunteer firefighters also assisted at the scene.

On X (formerly Twitter) Lancelin Police said they were responding to a traffic crash in Nilgen.

They said road closures were in place which would affect road users travelling in both directions on Indian Ocean Dr.

Police are asking drivers to expect delays and to drive safely.

  • Just before 6pm Lancelin Police said Indian Ocean Dr was open again in both directions to all traffic.
  • At 6.17 pm an emergency alert said the helicopter taking a man to hospital had arrived at RPH at 5.45pm.
  • The alert also said volunteer firefighters had helped clean up a fuel spill and make the area safe.

The RAC Rescue helicopters are funded by the state government, managed by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) and sponsored by RAC.
