TRYACT keen to attract volunteers

TWO Rocks Yanchep Assisted Cancer Travels members and anyone thinking of joining the organisation, which is keen to attract new volunteers, are reminded the annual general meeting is on Wednesday, June 2.

TRYACT president Sue Dash said the not-for-profit organisation had been running a successful (monthly) fundraising stall at Yanchep Central Shopping Centre but always welcomed new members to volunteer to assist with driving and help raise awareness of its activities in the community.

The organisation’s core activity is to provide subsidised transport to residents who need assistance to attend cancer treatments, so its main expenses include petrol and maintenance on the van.

Ms Dash said during Covid-19 TRYACT had been just as busy as usual but it had been a little harder to attract drivers as often people who wanted to volunteer or had been volunteering had compromised immune systems and had to safeguard their own health.

The TRYACT AGM will be held at the Y.hub 128, Yanchep Beach Rd, Yanchep starting at 4.30pm.
