TO kick-start their 30th anniversary celebrations the Two Rocks Yanchep Residents Association invited the community to help them plant a garden bed in a Yanchep park on June 28.

TRYRA chair Alex Figg said the association was proud of the members and guests who turned out to support their planting event at Old Nursery Park.

“In particular, we’d like to thank Peter and the team at the City of Wanneroo for providing the plants and organising the logistics for the day,’’ he said.

“We’d also like to thank Butler MLA John Quigley for showing his support over the years and coming out to help, alongside Lorna Clarke who will be running for the seat of Butler next year.

“We’d planned for the planting to take place over an hour or so, but in just 15 minutes we’d managed to get everything in the ground.

“We reckon this is a sure sign that the local community supports more plantings.

“We want to do more of them and given that we represent residents of both Yanchep and Two Rocks, we have plans for a similar event in Two Rocks to celebrate our 30th year of improving our community.”
