THE route of the Two Rocks wastewater infrastructue upgrade has changed.

Originally it was to include from the intersection of Two Rocks Rd and Yanchep Beach Rd to just west of the Yanchep Beach Rd and Marmion Ave intersection.

But Water Corporation spokeswoman Louise Fleming said in June 2017 the Water Corporation amended its original design for the project based on further detailed design work and to minimise disruption to the community.

The original design proposed in August 2016 included construction of 7.6km of new wastewater main along Two Rocks Rd and Yanchep Beach Rd.

“As the process from design to construction progressed, we identified a change to the alignment of the wastewater main which meant less main needed to be constructed, while minimising impact on the community,’’ she said.

“This modification meant work along Yanchep Beach Rd was no longer required, eliminating potential impacts on residents and local traffic in the area.

“The new route of the wastewater main utilises existing infrastructure near Zamia Rise, with a new section of wastewater main constructed in vacant land next to Seagrass Street, Cave Loop and McClements Dr in Yanchep.’’

She said residents and impacted stakeholders were notified about the modified route in June 2017.
