Wanneroo Rd re-opens after fatal crash

A man was found collapsed near a bus stop on Marmion Ave in Yanchep this morning.

ABOUT 9.04pm Main Roads WA said Wanneroo Rd at the Pipidinny Rd intersection was now re-opened to traffic in both directions.

WA Police say a man believed to be in his 40s has died after a truck crash in Carabooda-Eglinton.

WANNEROO Rd is closed in both directions after a truck crash on Wanneroo Rd, near the intersection of Bernard Road North, in the Carabooda-Eglinton area.

Wanneroo Road has been closed between Yanchep Beach Rd and Pipidinny Rd and is expected to remain so for several for hours.

A WA Police spokesman said about 10.20am on Saturday, December 2 police were called to a truck crash near the intersection of Bernard Road North.

The spokesman said the truck struck a tree, resulting in the truck driver receiving serious injuries and extensive damage being caused to the truck.

“The tree has fallen across Wanneroo Rd,’’ he said.

Police, Department of Fire and Emergency Services, and St John Ambulance attended the scene.

Major crash officers are in attendance, investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
