Wanneroo show attracts Gabbadah gardener

Keen gardener Steve Owens of Gabbadah plans to enter some of his produce in the Wanneroo Agricultural Show this year.

GARDENER Steve Owens plans to enter some of the produce from his fruit and vegetable garden in this year’s Wanneroo Agricultural Show.

A keen backyard gardener, Mr Owens, has a 2ha property in the Sovereign Hills estate in Gabbadah in the Shire of Gingin.

He does not claim to be an organic gardener but he uses all the leftover food waste from the house to make compost or feed his hens and then the litter from the hen house is used on the vegetable patch.

What produce he will enter in the show depends on what vegetables are ready for showing at the time.

This will be the first time he has entered the show, which is on Friday, November 24 from 4pm to 10.30pm and Saturday, November 25 from 9am to 10.30pm.

Meanwhile for people wanting to buy tickets to the show a new showmen’s pre-purchase ticket system is now available.

The direct link to the ticketing website is https://discountshowtix.com/

By pre-purchasing tickets patrons can save up to 20 per cent on side show rides and games.

The showmen will have a special branded collection booth within the side show area for patrons to collect their pre-purchased show tickets.
