THE City of Wanneroo says it is working on a solution to concerns about the traffic signals at the Yanchep shopping centre intersection on Marmion Ave.

The city’s assets director Harminder Singh said ensuring safe roads for all residents and visitors was a priority for the city.

“We are aware of the community concern regarding the traffic signals at the intersection of Marmion Ave, Lagoon Dr and Peony Blvd, Yanchep and have been working closely with Main Roads WA on a solution that will accommodate both motorists and pedestrians as the user numbers for the intersection continue to grow,’’ he said.

“Main Roads WA has indicated their preference is to assess the intersection again once the dualling of Marmion Ave is complete.

“The State Government has committed to funding the dualling of Marmion Ave between Butler and Yanchep, and the city will be working with Main Roads to improve pedestrian movements at these signals as part of this project.”
