THE Water Corporation is due to soon start work on an upgrade to the wastewater infrastructure in Two Rocks and Yanchep.
The upgrade includes the construction of 4.2km of wastewater main along Two Rocks Rd, 1km of wastewater main along Lisford Ave, 1km of wastewater main along the extension of Marmion Ave in Yanchep, a new below ground wastewater pump station on Charnwood Reserve and an upgrade of the existing Abrolhos Close wastewater pump station.
Residents and commuters will notice construction work from the intersection of Lisford Ave and Sovereign Dr and as work progresses south along Two Rocks Rd.
Traffic management will be in place to direct vehicles and pedestrians safely around the work area, with only partial road closures required on Two Rocks Rd during some sections of work.
Two Rocks Rd will remain open to traffic at all times.
Water Corporation assets delivery general manager Nick Churchill said the $8.6 million project would cater for population growth within the City of Wanneroo.
“This important project ensures for decades to come residents will have access to reliable wastewater services to safely remove wastewater from their homes to be treated,’’ he said.
Mr Churchill said the Water Corporation would start construction on 4.2km of wastewater main, starting near the Two Rocks Shopping Centre at the intersection of Lisford Avenue and Sovereign Dr and continue south along Two Rocks Rd.
He said a further 2km of wastewater main would be built along the road reserve for the future extension of Marmion Ave in Yanchep (the website says 1km).
“People may notice an increase in activity particularly as we work along Two Rocks Rd, however traffic management will be in place at all times to ensure the safety of our crews and the public.’’
