THE best dressed lady at the 2017 Yanchep Ball, which raises money for Telethon, was Ciara McIlduff.

This year the Yanchep Ball held in the Cabaret Cave at Yanchep National Park, raised $6450 for Telethon.

In what was its 50th year Telethon raised a record $36.43 million.

With an Arabian Night’s theme the Yanchep Ball included entertainment by Karimah from Bellydance Bombshells and Scott and Lisa Gardiner from Entyce Entertainment.

Fatina Baytie gave a welcoming address.

Yanchep emcee Dene Ashfield and his assistant worked hard to get everyone to increase their bids.

For a small fee freelance photographer Sara Turner offered guests the opportunity to have their photograph taken on the red carpet.

But Heather Jarvis has decided she needs a break from organising the popular event.

She said several people had asked if they could organise the event an there was no reason why not, but they would have to organise it themselves, including hiring the cave and sorting out catering with the Yanchep Inn.

She said it was disappointing that at a charity event someone had $200 stolen from their purse, an auction item was taken that belonged to someone else and several of the lamps were taken from the display.
