Yanchep man charged after Subiaco assault

WA Police are still asking for anyone with information after an alleged assault on a Subiaco man, who later died in hospital.

A YANCHEP man was due in the Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday, September 8 after being charged with unlawful assault causing death.

A WA Police spokeswoman said homicide squad detectives charged a 20-year-old Yanchep man in connection to the death of a 48-year-old man who was found unconscious in Subiaco in early hours of Sunday, August 26 and who later died in hospital.

On August 30 a police spokesman named the 48-year-old man of Subiaco as Dean Allan Cooksley.

The spokesman said detectives had received information through Crime Stoppers suggesting at 3.30am on August 26 a small red hatchback vehicle was seen in the area.
He said anyone who saw the car or had dashcam footage available was asked to call Crime Stoppers.
