Yanchep man involved in police shooting in court today

A Yanchep man has been charged after the Lady Lindsay Cove police shooting on September 17.

THE man at the centre of the Yanchep police shooting appeared by video link in the Perth Magistrates Court today.

The man appeared via video link from the Frankland Centre and was remanded to appear back in the court on Friday, October 2.

Detectives charged the man with an unlawful act or omission with intent to harm (endangering the life, health or safety of any person).

Early on Thursday, September 17 the man was shot three times by police in Lady Lindsay Cove.

The 37-year-old man was taken to Royal Perth Hospital where he underwent surgery.

WA Police will allege the man threatened officers with a knife and a pole.
