Yanchep was in the top ten population ABS population growth areas in Western Australia during the past financial year.

YANCHEP has confirmed its position as a property hotspot with the population reaching almost 10,000 residents, according to the latest ABS figures.

Figures for the 2016-2017 financial year show Yanchep’s population grew by 763 persons or 8.3 per cent to 9914 people.

Yanchep was in the top ten population ABS population growth areas in Western Australia during the last financial year due to the area gaining one resident on average every 12 hours.

Capricorn Beach estate project director Jarrod Rendell said affordable coastal land in a stunning environment combined with improving social infrastructure was making the area a must place to live for a growing number of Perth families.

“Yanchep has seen a dramatic increase in population over recent years and that is set to continue with major new infrastructure such as the construction of the Yanchep rail line to Perth encouraging more people to choose to live in this prime coastal location,’’ he said.

“When the Yanchep rail line is completed in 2022, it will be just take 49 minutes travelling time from Yanchep to Perth.’’

Mr Rendell said in an overall challenging Perth property market more than a third of the lots in the estate’s latest release had been sold.
