A NEW urgent care clinic for Yanchep will be operated by Lagoon Medical Centre in the ECU Health Centre in Ikara Lane.
On Monday, January 19 the Albanese Government said the new clinic would start delivering urgent care for the community over coming months.
“The clinic will help to ease pressure on the Joondalup Hospital emergency department, where about 34 per cent of presentations in 2024-25 were for semi-urgent or non-urgent conditions,’’ a government statement said.
Federal Health Minister Mark Butler said the new Medicare urgent care clinic in Yanchep would be open seven days a week, have extended hours and be fully bulk billed.
“This clinic will take pressure off the local hospitals, including Joondalup Hospital and will fill an important gap in services across extended hours and over the weekend,’’ he said.
Pearce MHR Tracey Roberts said it was fantastic news for Yanchep, Two Rocks and the growing northern corridor of the Pearce electorate.
“A Medicare urgent care clinic in Yanchep is very important for local families,” she said.
“Taking pressure off the Joondalup Hospital emergency department for urgent care needs like burns, cuts, or broken bones.
“I’m proud to have fought for this alongside the community and I won’t stop advocating for accessible, bulk billed healthcare close to home.”
