PUBLIC comment is open on a development application to allow Yanchep Beach Club at Lot 986 (222) Capricorn Esp to open at 6am.
In its application letter on behalf of Acumen Development Solutions, TBB Planning said the modification would allow Yanchep Beach Club to provide important early activation of the significant site within the coastal node of the Capricorn Beach estate, complementing the recently completed foreshore development adjacent to the site.
“The proposed condition amendment will assist to meet the likely demand from local residents and visitors for early morning food and beverage conveniences,” the letter said.
The development application is to change condition 3 of DA2024-1585 issued on February 26 which states the operation of the restaurant-café is restricted to between the hours of 12pm (midday) to 10pm Mondays to Thursdays, 7am to 12am (midnight) on Fridays and Saturdays and 7am to 10pm on Sundays.
The development application proposes modifying condition 3 to amend the opening hours so Yanchep Beach Club would be able to open at 6am with the operation of the restaurant/café restricted to between the hours of 6am to 10pm Mondays to Thursdays, 6am to 12am (midnight) on Fridays and Saturdays and 6am to 10pm on Sundays.
Yanchep Beach Club has a tavern licence.
Public comment closes on Wednesday, October 22.
